Last year was the inaugural summer of Austin Sound and Cinema on the lawn of the Long Center in Austin, Texas. And it was a huge success, meaning it's returning again this year! Imagine this setup: a warm summer evening, blankets on the lawn, food trucks, beverages for sale, live music while the sun sets, and a movie at sundown. Pretty ideal, right?
The event is organized by the wonderful folks at Alamo Drafthouse and do512, with sponsors helping to make this wonderful event possible. This year they have a wide variety of movie genres represented:
- June 8: "The Three Amigos" with The Crooks
- July 2: "Pee Wees Big Adventure" with The Urban Achievers Brass Band
- July 16: "E.T." with Henry + The Invisibles
- July 30: "The Pink Panther" with The Jeff Lofton Quartet
- August 13: "Raiders of the Lost Ark" with The Golden Dawn Arkestra
- August 30: "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" with a special guest
